  • Leverages the reliability, availability and performance of the underlying Application Server

Core Services and utilities

This section lists the Core Services and utilities that are provided by GSi. These services are generic in nature and are used by the vertical directly/ thru execution of processes.

Workflow Engine This is one of the core services of GSi, responsible for handling the workflows. At a high-level workflow engine instantiates, executes and manages workflows.
Task List Management Task List manager manages the task lists and associated task item. A Task List is a set of work items generated by the Workflow engine. A task item is the relationship between user/group of users and the activity instance and represents the work/task assigned to the user.
Audit Trail This block provides common audit trail data. This will be used by other services/utilities to log important events.
User Profile Management User Profile management service manages the roles, groups, users and their privileges. The implementation is generic enough to plug into any existing database. This will be used by the Workflow engine and Task management facility for role resolution.
Rules Engine Rules engine executes business rules defined in the process.
Scheduler Scheduler service provides priority and time-based scheduling of process.
Notification Engine Notification Engine is a utility provided as part of the GSi. It provides a common mechanism for notification by abstracting different notification mechanisms like e-mail, custom point-to-point, etc.
Alert Engine Alerts can be set at Process and Activity level. These alerts are processed based on process / activity state selected.

Gov Services

This section lists the Core Services and utilities that are provided by GSi. These services are generic in nature and are used by the vertical directly/ thru execution of processes.

Identity and Access Services This service provides administration interface to manage the user profile i,e users, roles, association to region, resources, permissions and user-role level privileges. Access service provides centralized authentication and authorization information.
Common Master Management This service provides administration interface to manage the user profile i,e users, roles, association to region, resources, permissions and user-role level privileges. Access service provides centralized authentication and authorization information.
TransMetering Service This service handles the CSC Services management and transactions metering functions. The verticals will use this generalized service for recording CSC transactions and for reporting purpose.
Service Documents / Checklists Mgmt Component The documents required for a service can be configured using this generalized component. Documents required (both mandatory and optional) can be defined using this component. Further documents can be categorized as Address Proof, ID Proof, Income Proof so on. Verticals/Application will use this for defining and validating the documents required for a service / grievance.
Local Messaging Service The Local messaging service provides features for point-to-point communication among the users. This service does not use any mail server and can be easily used without any additional requirement of server. This service also provides configurable mechanism for event based notifications and message templates.

Toolset

GSi Modeler GSi Modeler is the graphical process modeling tool. This tool provides a visual modeling environment using which users can model their process. Following are the features of the modeler tool.
GSi Monitoring and Reporting GSi Monitoring Tool provides the dash-board view of the processes in execution on the infrastructure. This tool provides simple and intuitive, yet powerful mechanism to perform drill-able process monitoring. Processes, activities and tasks can be searched based on various criteria. The results are displayed with configurable color coding scheme based on status.
GSi Administrator The GSi Administrator Tool is a Web Based application. This tool is used to manage the GSi and Vertical’s User profiles, Processes and Activities. It is also used to manage the Time Based Processes.
GSi Vertical Generator GSi Vertical Generator is a rapid application development (RAD) tool which will help in reducing the time required to develop a vertical. This tool will help in reducing the time required to develop User Interfaces and Automated activities.
Task Interface GSi provides a default task interface which can be used to manage the tasks. Open and pending tasks can be seen and operated upon. Both web and swing versions are provided. This can be customized based on the vertical’s needs.
